Performer
McKinley's performance career was tremendously rewarding, having worked with choreographers that helped expand her versatility as an artist.
Currently, she works with Unmarked Routes as a choreographer, performer, videographer for multimedia shows and grant writer.

Choreographer
Themes in McKinley's work emerge from her connection to the natural world: seeing ourselves in each other and in nature, leading to more compassion for others.

Educator
McKinley spent 30 years working in education from financial administration and communications to curriculum design, teaching and concert production. 
Her time in start-ups was most rewarding: creating a new dance program at The Winsor School, developing new curricula at The Cambridge School of Weston, and helping to found the Harvard Green Campus Initiative.

McKinley's classroom is a container for contagious courage, centering curiosity, collaboration, shared problem solving and creative experimentation. As a multimedia artist herself, she integrates visual art, writing, history, and anatomy into her dance courses.
